The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) awarded the feasibility study of Bishan to City Park Connector Network Crossings to study whether the 10km-long Kallang Park Connector, which starts in Bishan and runs along the Kallang River, can become a seamless commuting route for cyclists.

If implemented, it could take a cyclist about 30 to 45 minutes to ride from Bishan to the heart of the city.

The planning study for the proposed pedestrian and cycling crossing along the Kallang Park Connector from Bishan to City includes seven crossings at Braddell Road, Central Expressway (CTE), Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), Serangoon Road & Bendemeer Road, Kallang Bahru, Upper Boon Keng Road, Sims Avenue and Geylang Road. The crossings have iconic cable stayed suspension bridges at PIE, scenic circular ramp bridges in Kallang River and underpasses at various locations covering both above ground and underground connections.
