One Raffles Link & CityLink Mall

Location: Raffles Link Road

Country: Singapore

Client: Hong Kong Land Limited

Architect: Kohn Pederson Fox Associates

Services Provided: Civil, Structural and MEP Engineering

Meinhardt worked with Kohn Pederson Fox Associates on this prestigious project and provided integrated Civil, Structural and MEP engineering services.

The office building, One Raffles link, is a 6 storey column free 30,700 sqm high-tech office space – tailor made for financial institutions – and the integrated 6,000 sqm subterranean shopping mall, Singapore’s first, runs underground from City Hall MRT station to Suntec City.

The 400m long subterranean shopping mall constructed beneath busy highways and crossing under the Stamford Canal at 2 locations was essentially constructed adopting the most cost-effective “cut and cover” technique. Top-down, underpinning and local tunneling were adopted for limited sections to minimize disruption to public roads / services where traffic diversions could not be satisfactorily effected. The tunnel incorporating shops / food and beverage outlets is fully air-conditioned with sophisticated exhaust and air-filtration systems to ensure a clean environment within the mall.
